Why do I have to renew my domain name?

Just like most commodities, domain names also have an expiration date. A domain can be renewed for a minimum of 1 yr and max of 10 yrs. If you choose not to renew it, you will lose the legal right to use or keep the domain. It will become inactive and can be grabbed by someone else or become available for sale.
